What type of therapy does Amy Sharman provide?

        Amy Sharman is a private pay trauma and anxiety therapist in Scottsdale, Arizona. She provides evidence-based counseling for adults,

        including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based       

        approaches to help clients heal from trauma, reduce anxiety and depression, and work on being their best self.

Do you offer EMDR therapy?

        Yes. Amy Sharman offers EMDR therapy in Scottsdale for adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, Imposter Syndrome,

        perfectionism, critical self-talk, self-doubt, migraines, distressing past experiences and many more types of struggles and challenges.

Do you accept insurance?

 

This is a private pay therapy practice. Amy Sharman does not contract directly with insurance companies. Private pay allows for greater confidentiality, no required mental health diagnosis, and more flexibility in treatment. A superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Note that you can use your health savings account (HSA) for payment. 

How do I know if trauma therapy is right for me?

         Trauma therapy may help if you feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, emotional reactivity, avoidance, or self-criticism that trace back to   

         past experiences. You do not need to have experienced a single major event — ongoing stress or relational wounds can also benefit

         from trauma-informed therapy.

What should I expect?

The first session or two is for intake and treatment planning.  You’ll share your story, what brings you to counseling, your struggles, symptoms and goals for therapy. 

 

Amy will create a treatment plan, based on your goals, which will serve as a roadmap for therapy.

How much are sessions? 

 

$145 for a 50-minute session. Sliding scale can be discussed.   

 

Cash, checks, health savings accounts (HSAs), Visa and Master Card are accepted. You can keep a credit card on file in the Client Portal.
